Charleston Southern Chris and I are praying for all of Nick's friends and family. With all the others who knew him, we mourn the loss of a friend, a good man, and a great soldier. We remember him as a genuinely kind and caring person. May God grant him safe passage to the Heavenly glory that he so completely deserves for the sacrifice he has made; and may God bless all those who put their lives on the line for freedom. Rest in peace, Nick, you will be missed by all.

Northern Indiana He was one of the greatest members of the Class of '01. He always made everyone laugh, and was kind. We will always have fond memories. He will never be forgotten.

Rochester I had only met Nick Patterson a couple times, but I did grow up with his wife Jayme. My thoughts and prayers go out to Jayme, Reilly and the entire Patterson family.

Hebron, IN nick's mom and his sister are good friends to us we knew the kids when they were young. and my wife grew up with his dad. god bless you all. no one should lose a child or brother to a war like this . it's a shame that all we do is police this war. when will it end? can we ever live in peace. war is not fun and games.

Rochester I grew up with Nick as well. I was good friends with his sister. Nick always had a smile on his face and a very caring personality and respectfull. Just wish we could all thank him for what he has been through for our country. My thoughts are with his entire family during this tough time

South Bend I went to high school with Nick. He was a year ahead of me in school (I graduated from Rochester High School in 2002). Nick was a great guy, always smiling and a friend to everyone. Although I hadn't seen Nick since high school, the news hit hard. I'm proud to say that I knew Sgt.Nick Patterson. The community of Rochester lost a friend and a hero...You will truely be missed Nick...my thoughts and prayers go out to your family.

Indianapolis, IN I also grew up with Nick and was deeply saddened to hear this terrible news. It's very easy to sometimes forget about all of the brave soldiers who are overseas fighting for our country until something like this strikes so close to home. My thoughts and prayers go out to his entire family. Nick will be greatly missed.
