Evelyn J. Russell, 85, of Logansport, passed away at 8:40 a.m. Tuesday, August 10, 2010, in Woodbridge Health Campus.
Born September 18, 1924, in Carrolton, Indiana, she was the daughter of John Theodore and Ruby Mae Hillis Miller.
On July 8, 1948, in St. Joseph Catholic Church, she was married to Richard Everett Russell who preceded her in death June 18, 2010.
A homemaker, Evelyn was a member of the All Saints Catholic Church. She loved children and had a special place in her heart for animals. She also enjoyed sewing, crocheting and bird-watching. She was an excellent cook.
She is survived by one daughter, Kathy Nickels and her husband Michael, of Logansport; one son, Mike Russell and his wife Freedom, of Logansport; three sisters, Melba Richardson, of Walton, Barbara Young, of Muncie, and Shirley Cox, of Logansport; thirteen grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one brother, LeRoy Miller; and three sisters, Retha Bechdol, Annabelle Spencer and Cynthia Miller.
Funeral Information
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, August 14, 2010, in All Saints Catholic Church, with Father Mike McKinney officiating.
Interment will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Friday, August 13, 2010, in Fisher Funeral Chapel, where a Scripture service officiated by Deacon Juan Rodriguez will be held at 7 p.m
