Vera Louise Warfield

Vera Louise Warfield, of Logansport, passed away at 4:45 a.m. Saturday, April 15, 2017, in her residence.
Born July 26, 1934 in White County, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late Jesse Harrison and Dorotha (Riggle) Cook.
On May 7, 1978, in the Baptist Temple, she was married to Robert Ernest Warfield. Her preceded her in death October 24, 2013.
Vera was a graduate of Royal Center High School and the Logansport Business College. Vera retired in 1997 from the Logansport State Hospital where she had worked as a secretary.
Vera was a member of New Beginnings Baptist Church. She had been a member of the Baptist Temple for 53 years. She belonged to the Metamonmong Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, serving as secretary for 12 years. She was also a member of the Society of Indiana Pioneers and was very interested in genealogy. In her younger years, served as a Girl Scout advisor.
Vera had played the piano since she was 7 yrs. old She collected ceramic birds and enjoyed camping and had the gift of "smelling mushrooms" while hunting for the springtime morel. She had a green thumb and loved growing and arranging flowers. An avid reader, Vera also loved to travel.
Vera is survived by several family members and friends.
A Daughters of the American Revolution service will take place at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 20 in Fisher Funeral Chapel. A funeral service celebrating the life of Vera Warfield will follow. Pastor Jeff Timmons will officiate.
Burial will be in Ever-Rest Memorial Park, Logansport.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service Thursday in the funeral chapel.
