Patricia “Pat” Johnson, of Lafayette, died on April 3, 2017, she was 77.
She was born to the late Ralph and Virginia (Edison) Jarvis on September 28, 1939, in Olive Hill, KY. She was married to Steve Johnson on April 13, 1982 and he precedes her in death. She was previously married to Jim Tabor of Stockwell and he survives.
Patricia worked at Fairfield Manufacturing for many years. She loved her grandchildren and enjoyed spending time gardening whether it was vegetables or flowers, just being outdoors made her happy. Pat could out shop even the best of shoppers and her collections were impressive. There wasn’t a Country music song around that Patricia didn’t like.
Patricia is survived by 3 sons: Chris (wife Michelle) Tabor of Lafayette, Troy Johnson of Prairie Grove, AR, Derek Johnson of Fayetteville, AR and 4 Daughters: Nancy (husband Tom) Lewis of Monticello, Linda Gibson of Franklin, IN, Billie Hicks of Lafayette, Patty “Sissie” (husband Joey) Sales of Clarks Hill. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Shannon, Jennifer, Kamri, Cole, Stephen, Amber, Sean, Kelsey and 10 Great grandchildren.
Patricia was raised in a large family of 19 children and those surviving siblings are: Clarice Thomas of Stockbridge, GA, Olive(husband Glynnis) Lunsford and Pauline Colley both of Olive Hill, KY, Althea Hutchinson, Harlan (wife Carol) Jarvis, and Phillip Jarvis all of Ashland, KY, Eldon Jarvis of Monticello, Barbara Jarell of Tampa, FL, Rockie (wife Ann) Jarvis of Lakeland, FL, and Pam (husband Mike) Finnegan of Indianapolis.
In addition to Patricia’s parents and husband, she is preceded in death by a granddaughter, Amber, 6 brothers, and 2 sisters.
Visitation will be held at Fisher Funeral Chapel at 914 Columbia Street in Lafayette on Friday, April 7, 2017 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. with a service to follow with Julie Pope officiating.
Interment will be held privately by Pat’s family at Johnson’s Cemetery in Stockwell following the service.
Memorial contributions for Patricia may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
