Betty R. Hunter, 93 resident of Woodbridge Health Campus passed away Sunday, August 6, 2017.
Born September 18, 1923 in Logansport, she was the daughter of Andrew and Marie Michael.
She was married for 52 years to Charles P. Hunter who preceded her in death.
A 1941 graduate of Logansport High School, Betty retired after 25 years as secretary from Hamilton Standard, formerly RBM, in June 1984. She was a member of the Elkettes, Ladies VFW and American Legion Auxiliaries, a volunteer at Logansport Memorial Hospital for 10 years and past recipient of the Good Neighbor Award.
She was a member of Wheatland Avenue Methodist Church.
Betty enjoyed her time with family, classmates, former co-workers and friends. Her classmate Vivian Knepper was a lifelong friend having grown up together on the south side. Betty enjoyed staying closely connected to her granddaughter, nieces and nephews and their children through her handwritten notes, cards, letters and words of encouragement.
She was especially grateful for all the love and assistance she received from Judy Flory during her years at Woodbridge.
Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Chris Hunter, Arden, North Carolina ; one granddaughter, Hillary Hunter Morris and her husband Ryan, Atlanta, Georgia ; sister-in-law Joan Michael, Walton and several nieces and nephews.
Three brothers, Harry, Andrew, and Donald Michael and one sister, Helen White preceded in death.
A funeral service celebrating Betty's life will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, August 12 in Fisher Funeral Chapel with Pastor Carolyn DeWitt and Pastor Don Reed officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
Friends will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, August 11, in the funeral chapel.
