Margaret Ellen “Peggy” Reisinger of West Lafayette died on Monday, July 24, 2017. She was 72.
She was born to Dwight and Anna (King) Johnston on January 2, 1945, in Joliet, IL. Completely dedicated to each other, Peggy married Raymond Reisinger on July 1, 1978 and he survives.
Peggy was a good woman; her strong will saw her through some extremely difficult times. To her, attitude was everything; she would not hesitate to set you straight if she needed to. She was proud to have served in the Women’s Army Corps (WAC) as a nursing assistant on the frontline. She also worked waitressing for a number of years. Her passion was spending time with her family. Peggy enjoyed sewing, working with leather to make her kids purses and moccasins, she loved music from the 60’s especially the Supremes. She had an unconditional love for all people and animals. She always stood up for the underdog; everybody was welcome when Peggy was around.
Peggy is also survived by a son: James Loucks of Kankakee, IL; 3 daughters: Lori Gooding of Lafayette, Jackie Bonner-Beaulieu (companion Jeff Gable) of Bourbonnais, IL, and Joy Miller (companion Joe Erskine) of Lafayette; sister: Barb LaChapell; and her brothers: Dave Johnston (wife Lynn) and Mike Johnston. Her grandchildren were a light in her life: Devin, Stephen, Justin, Jimmy, Danielle (companion Joshua), Amber, Jordan, Joshua, and a great granddaughter Alayah.
