Obituary for Arnold Glenn Rainwater

Arnold Glenn Rainwater, 71, of Lafayette passed away Sunday, July 1, 2018 at Franciscan St. Elizabeth East.

Glenn was born on February 25, 1947 in Boswell to the late Arnett and Mildred Gregory Rainwater.

He was a 1965 graduate of Lafayette Jeff High School. Glenn went on to serve his country in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany during Vietnam.

On October 5, 1968 he was married to Violet Gochenour in Lafayette.

Glenn worked for many years in the Fellows Department at Fairfield.

He is a member of St. James Lutheran Church and the American Legion Post 11.

Glenn enjoyed mushroom hunting, fishing, and bowling for his Fairfield League.

Surviving is his wife, Violet Rainwater of Lafayette, his children, Rob (Angie) Rainwater of Lafayette and Lisa (Dean) Rainwater of Katy, TX, and his sister Donna (Ronnie) Lee of Lafayette. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Sam, Anna, Forest, and River and his great grandson Laeken Rainwater.

A funeral service celebrating Glenn's life will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, July 5, 2018 at Fisher Funeral Chapel with Pastor Peter Heckert officiating and full military honors. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. til the time of the service. A private burial service will take place at Meadow View Cemetery, Lafayette.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the Humane Society in memory of Glenn. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel.
