Obituary for Joseph L. Raderstorf

Joseph L. Raderstorf, 85, Logansport, passed away Monday, May 28, 2018, in St. Vincent Hospital, Kokomo.

Born March 3, 1933 in Logansport, he was the son of late Gilbert and Thelma (Cripe) Raderstorf.

On July 31, 1954 he was married to Wilma (Hardy) Raderstorf, who preceded him in death on January 20, 1970. On May 28, 1971, he was married to Benita Musall Raderstorf, who preceded in death April 21, 2007.

Joe worked at Gilbert Raderstorf Construction as a carpenter. He was also a Dairy Farmer north of Logansport. Joe served as a mechanic at Eikelberner Ford Tractor Sales and Service and was the head of maintenance at Small Parts Inc. where he retired.

Joe loved to work with his hands. He built the home he lived in, built all the cabinets, dressers and headboards in his home. His sons helped him build his workshop so he could work on projects and build things for family and friends.

Joe was a member of the Shiloh Christian Church and was ready to go home to be with the Lord and his loved ones. He loved his children, grandchildren and his great and great-great grandchildren - holding babies was the best of all. He enjoyed fishing and cheering at ball games. He looked forward to going to the 4-H fair. Joe also loved ice cream.

Surviving are three sons, Jay(Kim) Raderstorf, of Macy, Aric (Kathy) Raderstorf and Dirk (Lisa) Raderstorf , all of Royal Center; three daughters, Pat (Steve) Plank of Galveston, Lucinda (Dan) Beall of Rome City, Darla (Scott) Foerg of Burnettsville; one brother, Walter Raderstorf, Kokomo; sixteen grandchildren Leif (Tammy), Heather (Juan), Michael, Scott, Brad (Whitney), Jeff (Christy), Misty (Rich), Jennifer (Mike), Jessica (Andy), Justin (Kristie) Ashley (Mike), Evan, Larissa (Zach), Sarah (Matt), Carleigh, Allison; twenty five great-grand children; five great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by one brother, Gilbert Raderstorf Jr.; three sisters, Shirley Taylor, Lavoris Schlemmer, and Donna Ulerick; and one grandson, Ian Raderstorf.
