Obituary for Josephine Robinson Moore

It is with great sadness that the family of Josephine Robinson Moore announces her passing on Sunday, June 3, 2018 after a brief illness at the age of 87. She was born in Oxford, Indiana on November 26, 1930.

Jo graduated from Jefferson High School in 1948. She worked at the telephone company before marrying Gwin Robinson on March 11, 1950 where they made their home in Brookston, Indiana and she became a farmer’s wife. Her husband of almost 36 years, Gwin died on February 15, 1986 after a 7-year battle with cancer.

Jo was a past president of Psi Iota Xi Sorority in Brookston where she is still an Honorary Retired member. She was a very active member of the Brookston United Methodist Church for many years and currently was a member of Christ United Methodist Church.

On December 24, 1993 Jo married LeRoy Moore. They made their home in Lafayette and Bonita Springs, Florida. They enjoyed playing golf, taking cruises, playing bridge where she achieved Life Master, euchre, and hand and foot cards. Jo loved eating at Taco Bell.

Jo is survived by her loving husband of almost 25 years, LeRoy and sons, Steve (wife Jane) of Lafayette and Jeff of Chalmers, IN. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Bre Gipson, (husband Jackson) of Lafayette, Dru Clark (husband Josh) of Oceanside, CA, Jesse Robinson (wife Ashley) of Brookston, IN, and Katie Snowberger (husband Erik) of Battleground, IN and her 4 great-grandchildren, Gwin Gipson, Able Clark, David and Jonathan Snowberger.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Alice Bennett; her step-father, Perry Bennett; her grandson, Nicholas Robinson; and her daughter in-law, Sue Robinson.

In keeping with Jo’s request there will be no services.
