Obituary for Leo Bridges

Leo Bridges, 90, of Lafayette, passed away on Monday, August 13, 2018 at Mulberry Health.

He was born on July 29, 1928 in Tompkinsville, KY to the late Bee and Mertie (Young) Bridges.

Leo served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War from 1952 to 1954.

In 1956, he married Patricia Howard in Tippecanoe County. She preceded him in death in 2006.

Leo worked as a construction foreman for Kettlehut Construction thru the Laborers Union until his retirement in 1973.

He was a member of Evergreen Wesleyan Church. Leo enjoyed hunting and loved to spend time with his family.

Surviving are his daughter, Carolyn (Matthew) Ronco of Lafayette and his brothers, Ron Bridges of Summer Shade, KY and James Bridges of Chicago, IL. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Stephanie, Amanda, Jeri, Joshua, Levi, and Dominic and his 15 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his son, Larry Bridges; his sister, Ione Bridges Chapman; and his brothers, AC Bridges and George Bridges.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 15, 2018 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Fisher Funeral Chapel. Services will be on Thursday, August 16, 2018 at 10:30 a.m.with Pastor Joe Park officiating. Burial will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park with Military Honors.

Memorial donations may be made to The American Cancer Society in loving memory of Leo.
