Obituary for Phyllis June Sickels

Phyllis June Sickels, 82, of Stockwell, passed away on Wednesday, August 8, 2018.

She was born on April 4, 1936 in Bourbon, IN to the late Cleo Pete and Sylvia Ellen (Swayze) Rodgers.

Phyllis graduated from Burnettsville High School in 1955.

She worked for several Purdue Fraternities as a cook for 30 years before retiring.

Phyllis was a member of Stockwell United Methodist Church and loved to fish and mow her yard.

Surviving are her children, Patty (Bill Scott) Jewell of Lafayette and Larry (Cindy Beeler) Dyer of Stockwell and her sister, Joyce (Victor) Miller Hoch of Galveston. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Tracy, Brad, Mark, Pat, Matt, Robert, Mitch, Mike, Matt, and Tony; her great grandsons, Aaron, Adam, Harley, Lisa, and Douglas; and her great great grandson, Zen.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, George Dyer and William "Buck" Sickels; her children, Lisa Dyer Butler and Thomas Dyer; and her sister, Carolyn Coble.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 11, 2018 from 10 to 11 a.m. at Stockwell United Methodist Church. Services will be on Saturday, August 11, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Stockwell United Methodist Church with Rev. Mark Berg officiating. Burial will follow in Yorktown Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to Stockwell United Methodist Church.
