Obituary for Timothy L. "Tim" Friend

Timothy L. “Tim” Friend, 62, of Logansport passed away peacefully surrounded by his family Thursday, September 6, 2018, following an unexpected week-long battle with cancer.

Tim was born November 2, 1955 in Peru. He was a 1974 graduate of Peru High School
.
On March 25, 1999, in Logansport, he was married to Sandra “Sandy” (Louthain) Friend. Mayor Bill Vernon officiated at the ceremony. She survives.

For 39 years, Tim was employed at LMU. He was a member of the Izaak Walton League. Tim was an avid fisherman. He was a big fan of the Pittsburg Steelers. Above all, Tim was a family man and loved his family more than anything.

Surviving with his wife, Sandy, of Logansport, are his sister, Penny (Jim) Baber, Michigan City; his step-mother, Shirley Friend; son, Donny Friend, Logansport; step-son, Jason (Kim) Kesler, Logansport; step-daughter, Stacey (Oliver) Ramiro, Fishers;grandsons: Dalton and Garret Ramiro, and Jackson Kesler; step sisters, Terri (Jim) Robinson and Cindy Todd; cousin, Sharon (David) Grisez; mother-in-law, Mary Louthain; his in-laws, Sue Shannon, Brenda Louthain, Bob (Mary) Louthain, Mary M. Homburg, Bill Louthain; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Friend, his mother Betty (Spahn) Friend; and his father-in-law, Merrill Louthain.

No services are planned but family and friends are invited to stop by Sandy’s home to offer their condolences and share memories of Tim’s life.
